Two in a row!  Carnegie Mellon University and its Department of Materials Science and Engineering will once again host the EBSD topical conference in Pittsburgh, PA.  The department has an excellent history of progressive EBSD usage, and it houses a state-of-the-art microscopy suite that will be utilized for on-site demonstrations.

Rangos Hall (Ballroom) within the University Center of Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) will provide the main venue for EBSD 2014.  The plenary meeting room accommodates up to 160 participants in classroom style to facilitate note-taking.  Participants will be provided wireless access throughout the CMU campus.  In addition:

·         One section of the Rangos Hall immediately adjacent to the tutorial and technical sessions will accommodate vendor tables as well as coffee and snacks throughout the meeting;

·         Lunch is provided for attendees.  The University Center provides plenty of space for attendees to eat lunch, including the Hoch commons area, Foster and General Motors Dining room, as well as the Merson Courtyard outside.

·         Poster sessions will take place in the Connan room immediately downstairs from the meeting venue within the University Center.

·         Live vendor demonstrations on EBSD and SEM equipment will take place in the J. Earl and Mary Roberts (JEMR) Microstructural Characterization suite managed by the CMU Materials Science and Engineering department.  The JEMR suite is located in the Roberts Engineering Building, a 10 minute walk from the University Center.
